Câu 10 : Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D to indicate the correct answer to each of the following questions.
Most cars on the road today use gasoline as fuel. Gasoline is a non-renewable resource made from oil and other fossil fuels which means that it will run out someday. For this reason, it must be used carefully. Gas-powered cars are environmentally harmful because they give off greenhouse gases. Therefore, people should choose eco-friendly cars, which run partly or entirely on electricity.
A hybrid car runs on two power sources. It combines an engine running on gasoline and at least one motor running on electricity. They work together to make the car run more efficiently. When the car moves at average speeds, it is powered by a gasoline engine. During its movement, the car's kinetic energy charges the battery. When the car speeds up, it may need the help of the electric motor. Although hybrid cars mostly run on gasoline, the electric motors make them more economical on fuel. Not only that, less gasoline means fewer exhaust emissions are produced in the process of burning fuel for energy.
An electric car runs solely on electricity. The electricity in an electric car is stored in a battery pack. The battery, which powers the motor that turns the wheels, must be charged once the electricity runs out. Electric cars save money on fuel, which is a huge expense compared with a small fee to charge the battery. However, as electric cars can only go as far as their charge will take them, drivers need to make sure they stay close to charging stations. Those who worry about running out of power often choose hybrid options. Of course, the greenest way to travel is by walking or cycling.

Câu 11 : Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions below.
The word "ecotourism" is a combination of ecology and tourism. The International Ecotourism Society describes ecotourism as "responsible travel to natural areas which conserves the environment and sustains the well-being of the local people". Thus, walking through a rainforest isn't truly considered ecotourism unless it helps the surrounding community, perhaps by providing jobs for local people or preserving the wildlife. Countries are gradually recognising that it is possible to make money while protecting their natural resources.
Costa Rica has been leading the ecotourism movement for some time. In April of 2012, TripAdvisor.com ranked Costa Rica as the most popular ecotourism destination. Over 25 percent of Costa Rica's land is covered in lush national parks as a result of its conservation efforts. Its tourism sector employs thousands of people and brings in over $1 billion a year.
Unfortunately, people in the industry sometimes exploit the "ecotourism" label in their drive for profit. This brand of ecotourism isn't always conducted in the most responsible way, and may damage the environment it seeks to protect. One concern is that the ecosystem may be negatively impacted by the excessive number of people visiting these natural areas. Ecotourists tend to seek out locations with the rarest animals and plants; even if they take care not to upset the environment, their presence could put pressure on the most delicate living organisms. The interactions between people and animals pose another problem. In one Costa Rican national park, wild monkeys feed on garbage left by visitors and even aggressively steal food from them.
Although it is easy to be critical of the ecotourism sector, it is important to be positive as well. There will never be "pure" ecotourism - we can't expect zero negative effects on the ecosystem. It is also implausible to think that humans won't travel anywhere accessible to them.

According to some Canadian news media, university students don't like to share their own cultures with each other and are not keen to learn about new ones. However, a study conducted earlier this year at the University of Winnipeg found the opposite.
Its aim was to gauge undergraduate students' attitude towards cultural identity and cultural diversity. It was influenced by the findings of a 2021 study that examined how nine daily Canadian newspapers defined the term multiculturalism'.
The current study included 10 undergraduate students who participated in two discussions about culture and heritage. All participants agreed on the importance of multiculturalism. Seven of them had arrived in Canada in the last 10 years from different places including the Philippines, Pakistan, and Nigeria. The students talked about where they, their parents, and their grandparents came from, discussing everything from language to festivals, religion, and traditions. Three groups of students emerged. The first group maintained a strong connection with their heritage culture and values, and shared stories about their customs and how they made sure they didn't forget their heritage language. For example, one of them still liked listening to music in his home language. The second group felt a sense of belonging to a blend of cultures. They were exposed to different cultures when they grew up, however, they were open to and interested in experiencing other cultures through festivals and friends. The third group had experienced language and culture loss through the process of becoming Canadians. Although they were sad about that loss, they still felt enthusiastic about enriching Canadian culture and making it more diverse.
